The bridge creates a link between Midrand and Watervall City. It was built to minimize disruption to traffic on the N1 and was completed in April 2016 in time for the launch of the Mall of Africa shopping centre.
The works include:
Construction of 4 piers and 2 abutments, installation of 21 pre-cast beams over 5 spans, façade panels on both sides, a concrete deck and parapet barriers and handrails.
Quantities incudes 769m3 mass concrete, 2 593m3 structural concrete and 480 tons of formwork.
