Raubex Construction was responsible for the layer work and earthworks while Roadmac Surfacing were responsible for the asphalt paving.

Construction consisted of a 120mm asphalt paving totalling 250 000 tons constructed in two layers of 60mm thickness together with an Ultra Thin Friction Coarse (UTFC)of 20mm totalling 36,400 tons.

We used 30 percent recycled asphalt (RA) for the project and 1400 tons of BTB (Bitumen)which was recorded as the highest every tonnage the company has managed to apply in one day.

The project was successfully completed in the heart of Bloemfontein next to our Raubex offices in June 2017.
