The project, a lump sum contract - consisted of the demolition of an existing electrical security fence plus the supply and installation of an upgraded fenceand anti-tunnelling slab which surrounded a working electrical substation.
The new fence was 3.5m high and 1,400m long.
The fence was serviced by two new roads installed around its footprint, one internal asphalt road and one external road-base finished road.
Prior to the demolition of the existing fence, temporary fencing was installed retaining security. As part of the contract West force Construction installed LV electrical and communications infrastructure and hardware running from the existing switch rooms to the fence's cameras and sensors. The works also included some upgrades in the switch rooms.
The contract consisted of maintaining security at the site for one year.
