The existing basecourse was strengthened by importation of additional material to form a cemented (C4) subbase. A new basecourse was then constructed from imported G2 crushed stone material.

The existing cross section was increased from 6.0m surfaced width to 8.6m Cape seal surfaced width and 0.6m unsurfaced shoulders.

In collaboration with Empa Structures, one of our fellow group companies operating in the Infrastructure Division, the two bridges and all other drainage structures along the road were also widened to fit the new profile.
